NSCP Member Data
NSCP member data is used for NSCP-to-member communications.
NSCP makes available to its members a searchable database, provided for informational purposes to facilitate
networking, that contains, among other items, member phone numbers.
NSCP
members have the option to ask that this information not be disclosed;
in this instance, the phone number field in the report will display
"Private." This list is not supplied for commercial
purposes, nor is membership data sold or released by NSCP or
its members to third parties. The membership list does
not include
fax numbers or e-mail addresses.
In
some instances, NSCP may provide a member with another member's
address information to facilitate member contact. NSCP will ask
the member's permission to disclose this information beforehand.
NSCP does not sell member data. NSCP does not disseminate member
data for the purpose of commercial solicitation, nor does NSCP
disclose member data to non-members or to regulators, except
as
noted below.
As it is presumed that Service Providers are always seeking
to expand their client base, contact information will be freely
given to both NSCP members and nonmembers for the asking. If
a Service Provider wishes to avail themselves of the telephone
and email
privacy options noted above, they may opt to do so by contacting
NSCP.
NSCP Member Data Acceptable Use Policy
NSCP has the exclusive rights and privileges in and to the information contained in the NSCP membership directory. It is protected by U.S. Copyright laws, state trade secret protections and other and international treaty provisions, and must be treated like any other copyrighted or trade secret material. Use of the material contained in the NSCP membership directory is solely intended for the personal and private use by NSCP members to facilitate networking among members. All uses for commercial purposes are expressly prohibited without the prior written approval of NSCP's executive director. By using any NSCP membership directory, you are agreeing that you will not, and you will not knowingly authorize or permit others to, duplicate, reproduce or copy the information or take any other action in violation of NSCP's copyright including, but not limited to, use or transmission of data for solicitation and /or commercial purposes without the express authorization of NSCP. NSCP reserves the right to change the nature of this relationship at any time. NSCP Members who violate the terms of this policy may be permanently banned from membership in the association. NSCP grants you a license to use the material contained in the Membership Directory solely for your own private, non-commercial purposes.
NSCP Meeting Attendee data
NSCP provides meeting hosts, sponsors, and exhibitors with NSCP
meeting attendee data.
This data necessarily includes member data. Every NSCP meeting
attendee is given the opportunity, on each registration form,
to opt out and not have their contact data included on the attendee
list (it would therefore not be available to any meeting host,
sponsor, or exhibitor).
In some instances, NSCP may provide a speaker (regardless of
membership status) with another faculty member's address information
to facilitate contact.
NSCP
will either ask
the member's permission to disclose this information beforehand,
or simply forward the information.
NSCP does not provide e-mail data to meeting hosts, sponsors, and exhibitors.
Web site
You can access NSCP's web site and browse without disclosing
your personal data. No ad server company or third party will collect
or be provided with information such as your domain name, your
IP address or click-stream information when you view our site.
NSCP does not log IP addresses of individual users for data harvesting.
Passwords
NSCP provides it's members with access to password protected
areas of the site. Your password should never be shared with anyone.
You may change your password any time by calling NSCP and requesting
that it be changed. Your password must be 6-8 characters long
and should include both letters and numbers. It may not contain
any symbols, such as !, @, #, $, % and the like. Passwords are
not case sensitive.
Cookies
When a member logs in, a unique marker, or "cookie," is placed
on the user's hard drive that permits the user to access password
protected areas of the site for about 12 hours, after which
time the cookie expires. NSCP does not employ the use of cookies
for any other reason, including data collection or tracking individuals'
usage patterns. If, while browsing the NSCP site, you see a pop-up
box asking you to accept a cookie, you should click "yes" in order
to continue. A cookie cannot read data off of your hard disk or
read cookie files created by other sites.
E-mail addresses
E-mail addresses disclosed to NSCP are used for NSCP-to-member
communications. In some instances, NSCP may provide a member
with
another member's e-mail address to facilitate member contact.
NSCP will ask the member's permission to disclose this information
beforehand. NSCP does not disseminate member data for the purpose
of commercial solicitation, nor does NSCP disclose member data
to non-members or to regulators. When NSCP sends out mailings
to multiple members, it hides the addresses by using the BCC
field
so that e-mail addresses are not made available to other recipients.
Credit card transactions
We currently use the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol to safeguard
your information during an online transaction. SSL codes the information
transferred between you and the server, rendering it unreadable
to anyone trying to intercept the information.
Encryption
NSCP supports the use of public key encryption via PGP. You may
initiate secure communications with NSCP via the use of PGP by
asking to have NSCP's public key sent to you. Please check your
firm's policy on encrypted e-mail before pursuing this course
of action! Your firm may not permit the use of encrypted e-mail.
The use of NSCP's name
NSCP prohibits the use of its name for commerical purposes.
Members in good standing may, however, disclose their membership
in biographical materials and resumes.
