NSCP Currents is a bimonthly compliance journal with in-depth articles by highly respected industry professionals, tackling problems common to every type of financial services firm. In addition, the "Information Exchange" shares NSCP member questions and answers.

NSCP HotLine Memo is a monthly summary of regulatory initiatives and tracks legislative proposals from initiation to enactment. Supplementary information is available on request. The HotLine's format allows you to skim the issue quickly and focus on those news items that are important to you.

Members must log in to retrieve current issues of these publications and back issues of the NSCP HotLine Memo. Issues of the NSCP HotLine Memo dated prior to March 1993 are not available online. Issues of the NSCP Currents dated prior to January/February 1997 are not available online.

Q: Can I subscribe to NSCP's publications?
A: No. NSCP publications are distributed only to NSCP members.

Q: Are back issues of the publications available online?
A: Yes, to members. Back issues of the NSCP HotLine Memo are available from March 1993 to the present issue. Back issues of NSCP Currents are available from January/February 1997 to the present.

Q: I read an item in the NSCP HotLine Memo and I'd like to know more.
A: Supplementary material on many HotLine items is available. Nearly all NSCP reference numbers are avilable via e-mail.

Please note that older NSCP reference numbers might only be available via fax or regular mail. Please also note that not every one of these releases can be faxed: some number more than 50 pages.

Q: What must I do to get permission for reprinting an article from NSCP Currents?
A: Permission for reprints guidelines: all inquiries about reprints of material published in NSCP Currents must be directed to either Joan Hinchman or Fred Vorck. NSCP requires unique accompanying text for each reprint. Smaller reprints will require different accompanying text than reprints intended to be circulated widely.

For less than 50 reprints intended for circulation within your office, the following text must appear at the beginning of the article and in the same size typeface that the article is presented:
"Article © National Society of Compliance Professionals, Inc. Reprinted with permission. For more information about NSCP's publications and other membership benefits, please see NSCP's web site at www.nscp.org, or contact Georgette Mercado at (860) 672-0843."

For more than 50 reprints, or for all reprints intended for circulation outside of your office, NSCP will provide the text necessary for inclusion.

Q: I would like to contribute an article to Currents. How do I do this?
A: Send a message to NSCP explaining what specific area of securities complaince you would like to cover and attach a sample of articles you've previously written. (The sample attachments may be in Word, WordPerfect, KOffice, Abiword, PDF, or any other common format.) NSCP welcomes contributions! The sample articles you attach will be evaluated by NSCP's Editorial Board.

Q: I would like to make certain, select articles from NSCP publications available to others at my firm who are not NSCP members. May I make these available in my firm's electronic library?
A: Our digital archive policy is as follows:
Members may store select articles in an information storage and retrieval system in the following manner:
a. Members may only store select articles, and may not store entire issues of Hotline or Currents. (After all, this is what our web site is for).
b. Members may only store ONE copy of a given article in ONE type of information and retrieval system (e.g. CD/DVD, diskette, flash or hard drive) that is NOT used for distribution or copying. Also, an article may NOT be hosted in any way that would prevent multiple or networked users from seeing and acknowledging the source of, and copyright on, the article.
c. At the beginning of each article that is stored, the following text must be included in the same size typeface that the article is presented: "Article © National Society of Compliance Professionals, Inc.
