Kerry E. Cunningham was known for her expertise, contributions and efforts within the securities compliance industry. She had been an active and loyal member of NSCP since 2002 and an esteemed member of our faculty for both Regional and National Meetings. She served on several NSCP committees over the years and was currently serving her second term on the NSCP Board of Directors. She was chair of the FINRA District 2 Committee and was a subcommittee member for the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association. Her commitment to our industry was unsurpassed; she always had time for her friends and colleagues and willingly shared her knowledge and experience with others with a mix of wisdom and humor. She was a dedicated professional, educator and volunteer who was well respected and admired. She added value and provided guidance to many of us in the securities industry. Her loss will be felt by the countless lives she touched. In memory of Kerry E. Cunningham, the National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP) has established the NSCP Compliance Education Scholarship. This Scholarship is designed to benefit those professionals new to the securities compliance industry by offering educational tools to better enhance their knowledge and skill sets within the compliance industry. The NSCP Compliance Education Scholarship includes: The NSCP Compliance Education Scholarship has NO monetary value and NSCP membership has no bearing on eligibility. Taking the Initiative To be eligible for the NSCP Compliance Education Scholarship, one must be in their first five years in a securities compliance position. Eligible individuals who wish to apply for the NSCP Compliance Education Scholarship must submit the application by December 31st of each year. One scholarship will be awarded per year and the person selected to receive the scholarship will be notified on or around March 1st, the anniversary of Kerry Cunningham’s passing.
