Article Submission Guidelines for NSCP Currents

NSCP Currents features in-depth articles tackling issues important to Broker Dealers, Investment Advisers, Municipal Advisers, Private Funds, Investment Companies and Hedge Funds in the United States and Canada.  Written “for compliance, by compliance,” NSCP Currents is read by over 2,000 members each month who can benefit from your guidance and expertise.

Positioned as the premier compliance publication of the financial services industry, NSCP Currents articles offer best practices; real-world interpretations of securities regulations and their impact on compliance; practical advice on compliance initiatives; tools and other resources to assist compliance professionals; and articles of a general nature applicable to all members regardless of their business.

is published eleven times a year with a “Best Of” issue published in January which showcases selected articles from the previous year. 

Submission Guidelines
If you would like to submit an article for publication in NSCP Currents, please review the guidelines below.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact the NSCP Editorial Staff (

Articles can be up to 5,000 words in length or more.  However, very long articles, such as white papers, may need to be summarized with a link to the paper.  Contact the NSCP Editorial Staff to discuss the article and how best to showcase the information.

Series submissions are also accepted.  Please submit an outline or description of the other topics in the series with the first article so that the Editorial Staff can plan for their placement in subsequent issues.

Please refrain from marketing your firm’s services within an article as the publication is intended for educational purposes only. Resource materials may be labeled “Courtesy of ABC Company” but should not contain a marketing solicitation.

Include a short bio in the following format: (Name) is (job title) with (firm name) (hyperlink to firm’s website). He/she can be reached at (email address).

Articles must be submitted in Word (.doc or .docx) or Rich Text Format.  Previously published articles submitted without the Word or Rich Text Format document will not be considered until the file is received.

Permission for Previously Published Articles
If the article submitted is a reprint of a previously published article, documentation of reprint permission must accompany the article.  We regret that reprints submitted without the permission cannot not be considered until it is received.

Deadline for Submission
All articles must be received by close of business on the 1st Friday of the month (February through December) to be considered for inclusion in that month’s publication.  If an article is submitted after the deadline, the Editorial Staff will reach out to the author to discuss placement, but reserves the right to consider the article for the next month’s issue.

Editorial Considerations
NSCP reserves the right to accept or reject submissions based on the value and merit of the topic at the time of submission, as well as grammar and quality of writing.

If more than one article is received on the same topic, the Editorial Staff will consider the view point of both articles and decide how to proceed on a case by case basis.

Reprint Permission
Reprint of articles published in NSCP Currents is permitted with the prior written approval of NSCP.  Please contact Sarah Callaway for reprint permission.
