We are looking for a dynamic, diligent and passionate Compliance Analyst to join our global compliance department and help Polar as we look to continue our development as a best-in-class hedge fund. 

Job Description & Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Polar’s Chief Compliance Officer in implementing Polars’ compliance program as an SEC Registered Investment Advisor, CFTC/NFA Commodity Pool Operator and the Ontario Securities Commission as a Portfolio Manager/Investment Fund Manager/Exempt Market Dealer/Commodity Trading Manager.
  • Implement controls and perform periodic reviews on Polar’s compliance program.
  • Provide compliance training for Polar employees, prepare periodic regulatory, client and internal reports and participate in ad-hoc initiatives and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in regulatory compliance with a hedge fund manager
  • Strong understanding of US regulatory legislation and other legislations relevant to a global hedge fund manager, such as data privacy, anti-bribery and corruption, etc.
  • Prior experience with Canadian securities regulatory requirements is an asset but not a requirement
  • A highly ethical compliance professional who has a natural curiosity to learn and wishes to progress to a more senior compliance role over time
  • An excellent communicator who feels comfortable dealing with different business units and various levels of seniority
  • A creative thinker who always looks for ways to improve efficiencies
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, relentless drive toward continuous improvement
  • Location: New York City office of Polar Asset Management Partners Inc.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. We take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
