JH Award
2026 JH Award Nominations – Now Open

The JH Award is NSCP's highest honor, recognizing individuals who have made exceptional lifetime contributions to the financial services compliance profession, as well as sustained meaningful involvement with NSCP.
Named in honor of Joan Hinchman, NSCP's founding Executive Director, the award was established in 2013 to celebrate those who exemplify the values she championed - professionalism, service, mentorship, and excellence in compliance.
Candidate Criteria:
Nominee should:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence
- Consistently strive to enhance the compliance profession through active involvement and participation with NSCP
- Exhibit a positive attitude and a commendable, can-do approach
- Be a current NSCP member, except in the case of a former regulator (e.g., Lori Richards, SEC OCIE Director and inaugural recipient in 2013)
- Demonstrate a long-standing commitment to the compliance industry (recommended 20+ years)
Eligibility Guidelines:
- Regulators are not eligible to receive the award, as recognition from organizations such as NSCP may be perceived as favoritism or create a conflict of interest
- Current NSCP Board members are ineligible
- Former Board members are eligible after a minimum three-year period off the Board
Do you know someone who meets the above criteria? Help us recognize the leaders who continue to shape and strengthen our profession.
Nomination deadline: Friday, June 5, 2026
The 2026 recipient will be announced and honored at the NSCP National Conference on October 26th during the annual Awards Lunch.
