Member-In-Charge (MIC)
Overview
As a Member-In-Charge (MIC), you’ll play a key role in ensuring individual conference sessions run smoothly. You’ll support speakers, assist attendees, and help manage session logistics — contributing to a seamless and professional event experience.
Responsibilities
- Arrive early to assigned session to greet the speakers
- Welcome attendees and help them find seating as needed
- Introduce the speakers at the start of the session
- Distribute and collect materials (e.g., handouts, evaluations) if required
- Assist with Q&A logistics (e.g., passing a microphone, serving as a liaison between attendees and speakers as needed)
- Monitor the room during the session to ensure a quiet, respectful environment
- Report any problems or questions to the NSCP event staff promptly
Qualifications
- Current NSCP member
- Friendly, dependable, and professional
- Comfortable interacting with both speakers and attendees
- Able to follow a session schedule and handle light troubleshooting
Time Commitment
- 60-75 minutes per assigned session
