JH Award Committee Member

Overview

The JH Award Committee is responsible for reviewing nominations and selecting the recipient of NSCP’s highest honor, the JH Award. The Committee recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional lifetime contributions to the financial services compliance profession, as well as sustained and meaningful involvement with NSCP. Committee members help uphold the integrity and prestige of the award through a thoughtful and confidential selection process.

VOLUNTEER FORM

Responsibilities

• Review & Evaluation: Review nomination materials and evaluate candidates based on established award criteria, including professional contributions, leadership, mentorship, service, and involvement with NSCP.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow Committee members and NSCP staff throughout the nomination and selection process.
• Participation: Attend Committee meeting and actively contribute to discussions regarding nominee qualifications and award selection.
• Stewardship: Help preserve the integrity, fairness, and significance of the JH Award selection process.
• Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding nominations, Committee discussions, and recipient selection.

Qualifications

• Current NSCP member
• Familiarity with NSCP’s mission, values, and professional community
• Strong judgment, professionalism, and integrity
• Ability to thoughtfully evaluate candidates and engage in respectful discussion
• High level of discretion and confidentiality required
• Prior volunteer leadership, committee experience, or industry involvement preferred

Time Commitment

• This is a volunteer position that includes at least one Committee meeting along with additional time to review and evaluate nomination materials in advance of the meeting.
• Time commitment may vary depending on the number of nominations received.
• One-year term commitment
