Meet the Team Supporting NSCP Members: A Q&A with Mikaela Amendt

Association Updates,

Mikaela Amendt is NSCP’s Association Engagement Coordinator

1. What is your role at NSCP, and how do you support our members?

My role at NSCP primarily focuses on organizing regional events and the national conference. I work on securing sponsorships, sourcing venues, and coordinating the logistics needed to bring these events together successfully. Because our members find these regional labs and conferences highly valuable and informative, I support them by ensuring these events are well-organized, engaging, and provide meaningful opportunities to connect with sponsors and speakers.

2. What drew you to working in the association space?

I was drawn to working in the association space because I wanted to make a meaningful impact. It’s important to me to know that the work I do provides value and benefits others. I also enjoy having a voice in the organization and being part of a collaborative environment where ideas and efforts come together to support our members.

3. What’s one thing you wish more members knew about your role?
One thing I wish more members knew about my role is how seriously we take their feedback. We’re always listening and continuously working to make our educational labs as valuable and impactful as possible.

4. What do you enjoy most about being part of the NSCP team?
What I enjoy most about being part of the NSCP team is how close-knit we are. With just seven of us, it really feels more like a little work family than an organization—which makes collaborating easy and the day-to-day a lot more fun.

5. What’s your go-to way to recharge or reset outside of work?
Outside of work, you can usually find me at CrossFit, out on a walk with my dogs, or baking some kind of sourdough creation. And when it’s time to fully unwind, I’m definitely catching up on reality TV - no shame, it’s my guilty pleasure!

6. Coffee order or favorite afternoon snack?
Coffee order: Vanilla latte with an extra shot (because there’s no such thing as too much espresso :P ) Not picky between hot or iced!

Afternoon snack: Potato chips & a beef stick
