NSCP Names Brian L. Rubin Recipient of the 2026 JH Award

Eversheds Sutherland partner recognized for his longstanding service,
thought leadership and contributions to the compliance profession
Washington, DC (August 27, 2026) – The National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP) today announced that Brian L. Rubin, partner and co-head of the Securities Enforcement and Regulatory Investigations practice at Eversheds Sutherland, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 JH Award.
Rubin will be recognized on October 26 during the Awards Luncheon at the 2026 NSCP National Conference, taking place October 25–28 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida.

Rubin has played an active role in NSCP through service on its Board of Directors and Regulatory Advisory Committee. He co-authored and continues to support NSCP’s Firm and CCO Liability Framework, co-chairs the Broker-Dealer Forum, regularly contributes to NSCP Currents and facilitates the annual NSCP 5K Run at the National Conference.
A frequent presenter at industry conferences and webinars, Rubin provides regulatory analysis and practical compliance insights on securities enforcement, CCO liability, regulatory examinations and other issues affecting financial services firms.
Rubin brings more than three decades of experience in federal securities law to his work representing broker-dealers, investment advisers, asset managers, public companies and individuals in SEC, FINRA and state regulatory examinations, investigations and enforcement proceedings, as well as in internal investigations. Before entering private practice, he served as Deputy Chief Counsel of Enforcement at NASD, now FINRA, and as Senior Enforcement Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
He is nationally known for his annual analysis of FINRA sanctions and has written and presented extensively on enforcement trends, CCO liability, regulatory risk and compliance program oversight. His NSCP-related recognition includes NSCP Currents Author of the Year in 2020 and recognized in the Best of NSCP Currents awards from 2020 through 2025. He also received a Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Award at the 2023 Burton Awards for co-authoring an article applying the NSCP Firm and CCO Liability Framework.
Rubin is chair of Eversheds Sutherland’s U.S. Pro Bono Committee and has been recognized for his work in securities enforcement and regulation by Chambers USA, which ranks him Band 1, The Best Lawyers in America, The Legal 500 United States and Securities Docket.
