Overview

The Scholarship Committee is responsible for reviewing applications and selecting the recipient(s) of the NSCP Compliance Education Scholarship. Established in memory of NSCP members who have passed, whose dedication and contributions helped build the foundation of the organization, the scholarship supports professionals who are new to the securities compliance industry by offering educational tools to better enhance their knowledge and skill sets within the compliance industry.


Committee members play an important role in recognizing emerging compliance professionals and supporting the next generation of industry leaders through a fair, thoughtful, and confidential selection process.

VOLUNTEER FORM

Responsibilities

  • Review & Evaluation: Review scholarship applications and evaluate candidates based on established eligibility requirements and selection criteria.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow Committee members and NSCP staff throughout the scholarship review and selection process.
  • Participation: Attend Committee meeting and actively contribute to discussions regarding applicant qualifications and scholarship recipient selection.
  • Stewardship: Help uphold the integrity, fairness, and purpose of the NSCP Compliance Education Scholarship program.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding applications, Committee discussions, and recipient selection.

Qualifications

  • Current NSCP member
  • Familiarity with NSCP’s mission, values, and professional community
  • Strong judgment, professionalism, and integrity
  • Ability to thoughtfully evaluate candidates and engage in respectful discussion
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality required
  • Prior volunteer leadership, committee experience, or industry involvement preferred

Time Commitment

  • This is a volunteer position that includes at least one Committee meeting along with additional time to review and evaluate scholarship applications in advance of the meeting.
  • Time commitment may vary depending on the number of applications received.
  • One-year term commitment
